Tundish
The tundishes play a fundamental role in the operation of the steelworks: any failure, in addition to having consequences on the production cycle, would jeopardise the entire safety of the plant.
The permanent coating of a tundish must withstand for a considerable time a continuous change of temperature in its operational form: from casting position (> 1600 ° C) to position of safety coating (ambient temperature).
The excellent resistance to thermal shock of the refractory material is an indispensable condition when selecting the appropriate concrete.
