Proud to have been present at the opening of the 7th edition of Industria Erronka, an inspiring project that brings industry closer to young people and awakens STEAM vocations, key to the future of the sector and our territory.

Industria Erronka kicks off its 2025-2026 edition with new data on STEAM vocations in Bizkaia.
Since 2018, more than 20,200 students have participated in this FVEM program that brings industry closer to young people and encourages STEAM vocations. In the last edition, almost 7,000 students were able to get a close-up look at the industry, a record!
At the opening of the seventh edition, Begoña San Miguel, President of FVEM, inaugurated the conference and presented the first study on students’ professional preferences:
- More than 51% show interest in careers related to industry.
- A gender gap persists: 86% of female students opt for university studies, compared to 70% of male students.
- Having role models—especially female ones—is key: 70% of students who are oriented towards STEAM know someone who works in the industry.
We also heard a presentation by Marta Macho Stadler, mathematician, professor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and science communicator, who shared data on the gender gap and the challenge of equality that still lies ahead.
Closing this session, Ainara Basurko, Regional Deputy for Economic Promotion, reminded us that Bizkaiko Foru Aldundia / Provincial Council of Bizkaia has programs such as Bizkaia with the talent.
With this edition, we reaffirm our commitment: to bring industry closer to young people, break down stereotypes, and promote it as a professional option for the future.
