A self-flowing castable has been successfully installed as a backup lining in a 125t steel mill ladle.
The advantages of this lining compared to other traditional solutions are the following:
– Correction of imperfections in the external shell of the ladle with evident effect on the work lininig
– Improvement of the behaviour of the refractory brick work lining: increase in casting / ladle campaign.
– Elimination of joints, continuous monolithic lining.
– Excellent mechanical resistance in the demolition of the brick working lining.
– Easier cleaning of possible infiltrations between the working lining and the safety lining.
